Privacy Policy

🛡️ Your Privacy is Our Priority
GroupDelete is a standalone desktop app that runs in its own sandboxed browser. Your personal browser data is never accessed. All Facebook sessions and cookies are automatically destroyed when you close the app. We do not collect Facebook data, credentials, group content, or member information. Debug data is sent only if you turn on sharing in the app, and you can delete it at any time.
1. Information We Do NOT Collect
GroupDelete is designed with privacy by default. We do not collect:
- Your Facebook login credentials or authentication tokens
- Your Facebook groups, posts, or any content
- Your browsing history or website usage data
- Your personal information, emails, or contact details
- Your IP address, device information, or location data
- Any analytics, tracking, or behavioral data by default
2. How GroupDelete Works
GroupDelete is a standalone desktop application for Mac, Windows, and Linux:
- Sandboxed Browser: The app launches its own isolated browser instance, completely separate from your personal browser. Your history, saved passwords, bookmarks, and extensions are never touched or exposed.
- Session Cleanup: When you close GroupDelete, all Facebook sessions, cookies, and browsing data from the sandboxed browser are automatically wiped. Your account cannot be compromised after you are done.
- Zero Persistent Code: When the app is closed, no code is running and no background processes remain. There is no persistent attack vector.
- Direct Communication: The app communicates directly with Facebook's servers using the session you create in the sandboxed browser. No data is routed through our servers.
- License Validation: The app contacts our servers to check a license key and, if you choose, to send optional debug data. Facebook data is never routed through our servers.
3. Optional Debug Sharing
The desktop app includes an off-by-default toggle labeled Share debug with GroupDelete. If you turn it on:
- We receive application errors (including console errors from the app) and high-level operations such as launching Facebook, scanning a group, or starting a deletion
- If an error happens while Facebook is open, we may receive a tag-only HTML skeleton of that page (roles, classes, and structure), plus the step the app was in, the computer type, and the selected language
- We do not receive Facebook logins, passwords, cookies, group names, member names, or group content
- Turning the toggle off permanently deletes that debug data on GroupDelete's servers. You can also delete it from our side at any time by turning the toggle off
If you never turn this on, no debug data is stored on our servers.
4. Data We Never Access
While GroupDelete can delete Facebook groups with your permission, we never access:
- Group content, messages, or member information
- Your Facebook friends or contact lists
- Your posts, photos, or personal timeline
- Any other Facebook data beyond the specific groups you choose to delete
5. No Data Selling or Sharing
We do not sell or share Facebook data or personal information. GroupDelete:
- Does not sell user data to third parties
- Does not share data with advertisers
- Does not participate in data broking
- Does not use your data for marketing purposes
6. Security
GroupDelete was designed as a standalone app specifically to address the security risks of browser extensions:
- No Attack Surface: Close the app and nothing runs. No background processes, no persistent connections, no way in.
- Sandboxed Isolation: The app's browser is completely separate from your personal browser. It cannot access your history, passwords, cookies, or any other personal data.
- Automatic Session Destruction: All Facebook login sessions, cookies, and cached data are wiped when the app exits, ensuring your Facebook account cannot be accessed after you're done.
- Not a Browser Extension: Unlike browser extensions — which run inside your personal browser with broad permissions and have historically been used to mine personal data for resale — GroupDelete operates in complete isolation from your browsing environment.
- Local Control: You maintain full control over your Facebook account at all times.
